Tim Reiter and Leon Wassertheurer experienced a changeable race weekend at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. With different weather conditions in the free practice sessions and after a difficult qualifying session on a drying track, Tim Reiter started Saturday's ADAC GT4 Germany race from 18th on the grid.
Reiter put in a strong performance in the race and was able to hand over the BMW M4 GT4 to Leon Wassertheurer in 8th place halfway through the race. The driver duo achieved a good result at the finish with 6th place.
On Sunday, Wassertheurer started the second race at the Red Bull Ring from 14th on the grid. After a very turbulent start, several cars collided at the end of the first lap. In this situation, Wassertheurer was first unfortunately hit in the rear and then by other vehicles. As a result, he collided into the pit wall.
"First of all, I'm very happy that Leon and the other drivers are doing well under the circumstances after the crashes on Sunday - that's the most important thing. I was able to move up 10 places in Saturday's race and found my rhythm in the race. Many thanks to Hofor Racing by Bonk Motorsport for their great work at the weekend and in the coming weeks. I'm already looking forward to the season finale at the Hockenheimring," said Tim Reiter.
The last two races of the ADAC GT4 Germany will take place at the Hockenheimring as part of the DTM from October 18 to 20. The races will be broadcast live on Sport1 free-to-air TV.
