ADAC GT4 Germany season opener at Oschersleben with no points

The Reiter/Wiskirchen driver duo were unable to take any points home from the opening weekend of the ADAC GT4 Germany in Oschersleben. In the first qualifying session of the new season, Tim Reiter qualified for the fourth row of the grid as the fastest BMW, just a thousandth of a second behind his ME Motorsport team-mate.

Although Reiter had created a good starting position for the first race with the qualifying on Saturday, the higher top speed of the competitors prevented him from overtaking and thus improving his position. Even before the driver changeover in the middle of the race, a Porsche forced Tim Reiter into the gravel through no fault of his own. The MSC Sielmingen driver was able to continue the race. However, Philip Wiskirchen had to retire the BMW M4 GT4 after the driver change due to consequential damage.

In Sunday's race, Wiskirchen had to retire after just a few meters. As a result of a collision with a competitor at the start of the race through no fault of his own, he had to park the ME Motorsport BMW.

"It was already clear in the free practice sessions on Friday that it was going to be tough for BMW at Oschersleben. I was happy with my qualifying time as the fastest BMW. The two retirements through no fault of my own are regrettable and obviously not a good start to the season. Nevertheless, I'm now looking ahead to the second race weekend at the Norisring," says Tim Reiter.

Tim Reiter's next outing is a race in the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) on May 10. Reiter wants to obtain his license for the Nordschleife here. He will line up with Team Hofor Racing by Bonk Motorsport, in which Reiter was active in the ADAC GT4 Germany from 2022 to 2024, and his former teammate Leon Wassertheurer at the 3rd round of the NLS.

The second ADAC GT4 Germany race will take place at the Norisring from July 4 to 6. All ADAC GT4 Germany races take place as part of the DTM. The races are broadcast live on Sport1 free-to-air TV and are available as full-length live streams on Sport1.de, Joyn and YouTube under ADAC Motorsport.
