Tim Reiter competed at the Norisring for the first time and secured eleventh place on the grid in qualifying on Saturday. After an outstanding start on the 2.3 km short Norisring, the MSC Sielmingen driver came back from the first lap in seventh place. Reiter handed the BMW M4 GT4 over to Leon Wassertheurer in fourth place midway through the race. After an optimal pit stop, Wassertheurer saw the chequered flag in third place, a very close second.
In qualifying and the race on Sunday, the conditions for another top position for the BMW GT4 cars were significantly worse due to the cooler weather and a change in the "Balance of Performance" due to the regulations. Reiter showed a first-class defense of tenth place in his stint at the end of the race. With a lead of just 0.121 seconds and as the second-best BMW, Reiter crossed the finish line ahead of his eleventh-placed rival.
"Our podium finish on my debut at the Norisring on Saturday is outstanding. My thanks go to the entire team and Leon, who put in a great performance. The Porsches were impossible to catch on Sunday. Nevertheless, I'm proud of defending tenth place until the end of the race. I will always be able to look back on my first race weekend at the Norisring with a smile and that makes me happy," said Tim Reiter.
The upcoming ADAC GT4 Germany races will take place at the Nürburgring from August 16th to 18th as part of the DTM. All races will be broadcast live on Sport1 free-to-air TV.
